Headstones and grave markers are the heart of the catalog: upright headstones, flat and bevel markers, ledger markers, heart, cross and shaped designs, military and religious styles, and companion monuments for two. More than 800 designs are ready to engrave.

Your cemetery decides part of this — some sections accept only flat or bevel markers while others allow full uprights — so check the rules for your section first, then pick the shape.

A niche is a sealed compartment sized for one set of ashes. Two niches suit a couple. Four suit a small family. Twelve is the largest unit we cut, and it is a multi-piece build.

Buy the count you will need rather than the count you need today. Matching a granite color and a letter style across two cuts made years apart is the request we can least often satisfy exactly.

Four colors are held in the shop: Bahama Blue, Black, Gray, Red. All four take a polish and all four hold engraving cleanly.

If you are matching a wall that already stands in a family plot, send a photo and we will tell you which of the four is closest.

When one set of ashes needs a home and the memorial does not need to grow. Every urn in the catalog is $375 with the engraving included.

Eight urn designs are in stock. Four of them carry carved detail before any lettering is added: a rose, a wave, a cross inside a recessed arch, and three doves on a dark round panel.

Names, dates, and symbols are cut into the granite in-house before the unit ships. Crosses, doves, roses, and line borders are the ones we cut most.

Every inscription goes out as a proof first. A wrong date found on paper costs nothing.

An upright headstone is the classic rectangular or serpentine-top tablet standing on a granite base. A shaped headstone is cut to a carved outline — a heart, a cross, a teardrop, an open book or an angel — before engraving.

Both use the same granite and the same in-house engraving; the shaped outline mostly affects the cutting time and the price. If your cemetery section allows uprights, both types will pass its rules.

It depends on the section, not the city. Most cemeteries we install in across Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, San Francisco and our other California service cities have both lawn sections (flat markers only) and monument sections (uprights allowed).

A companion headstone is one wider stone made for two people — usually spouses — with a shared or split inscription field. It replaces two single headstones on a double plot and keeps the granite, lettering and weathering identical for both names.

The catalog carries over 120 companion designs, from flat companion markers to full upright companion monuments with vases. Second inscriptions are added later at the cemetery, matched to the first.

Lawn sections almost always require a flat (flush) grave marker set level with the grass so mowers pass over it. Bevel and slant markers are accepted where the section allows a raised profile, and ledger markers need a full-grave footprint.

Names, dates, epitaphs and emblems — crosses, doves, roses, praying hands, military insignia — are sandblast-cut into the granite in-house. Dark granite reads without color fill; on lighter stones we cut deeper for contrast.

Every inscription is approved on a printed proof before cutting, and companion grave markers carry two inscription fields on one stone.

A flat marker still needs a proper foundation to stay level; ours are set to the cemetery specification and carry the same lifetime structural warranty as our monuments.

Dark granites such as Indian Black Premium read clearly without color fill, which keeps later additions consistent with the first.

Usually, yes. Compact 2–4 niche family monuments stand on a standard plot footprint; larger estate units need a family plot and cemetery approval. We draw the monument to the cemetery’s written height, footprint and foundation limits from the start and supply the drawings the site owner needs.

Usually, yes. Send a photograph of the existing stone and we will tell you which granite in the catalog is the closest match, or quote the vase in the same granite as a monument we are already cutting for you.

A border panel or inscription can be engraved on the vase itself, proofed on paper before any cutting.

Plastic vases crack and fade in one or two California summers, and bronze is a frequent theft target. A granite vase has no scrap value and no parts to break.

It is the same stone as the monument, so it weathers at the same rate and the pair still match decades later.

In many monument sections, yes — the bench itself carries the names, dates and emblem, engraved on the seat or the backrest. Cemeteries treat a bench like any monument, so the section rules on footprint and foundation still apply.
